大家上午好!今天我的致辞面向全体信息科大人,特别是即将在这里开启全新人生篇章的近5900名本科和研究生新生们。
又到了北京一年最好的季节。在这个满载希望的收获季节,欢迎大家来到北京信息科技大学美丽的沙河校园。如果你是新生,那我要对你说:“恭喜!”你已经成功“通关”高考,“上岸”研考,迈出了非常重要的一步,进入了一个充满可能性的阶段。从今天开始,这个校园会成为你探索真理、培养技能和塑造个性的地方。而如果你是返校的师生,我要说:“欢迎回来!”在主城完成补给,也让主城因你们而实现“补给”!我们刚刚度过一个时长近三个月的夏季学期和暑期。你们的成长和贡献,使信息科大在“高校荣誉榜”再刷新段位,让公众和媒体都不禁直呼“信息科大,这次真的起飞了”!学校变得更加多元、更富有活力。
今年暑期,全球首个人形机器人“奥运会”燃动冰丝带。我校作为核心承办力量,七大学院惊艳亮相——“人机协同”足球赛、赛博“蹦迪”秀场、关节“精密工厂”……赛场因信息科大而闪亮!这个过去的暑期,全校师生又兴奋了一把。高考录取分数与位次再创新高,“强势崛起”“又一次飞起来”成为媒体对我们的共同评价。这份成绩单是学校在新工科建设、产教融合、科教融汇、育人模式创新等领域厚积薄发的生动体现。从“实业救国”到“工业报国”再到“信息强国”,88年来学校始终与国家和民族发展同频共振,在历代信息科大人接续奋斗的历程中,形成了鲜明的信息特色、国防特色和行业特色。今天的信息科大,作为信息特色鲜明的地方高水平应用型大学的典范,正在以最昂扬的发展态势,赢得社会各界的广泛认可。今天,随着天枢书院与伊利诺伊工程学院迎来首批新生,我们的办学格局又实现了新的跨越。可以说,你们与信息科大的相遇恰逢其时,这是一场青春力量与时代使命的双向奔赴,我们每一个人都将在这里亲历学校迈向高水平大学建设的每一个坚实步伐。
每年的开学典礼,都让我感到无限的希望和未来的可能性。今年,我尤其期待,因为这个世界正在经历巨大的变化——科技发展迅猛,社会动态复杂,而教育,也在快速地重新定义自己。面对更高质量的时代发展需求,信息科大不甘人后,敢为人先——从2025级开始,我们为大家修订了新版培养方案,有些本科专业比起之前最多减少了30学分!那么,当学分减少,我们应该在大学学什么?
在全球范围内,大学教育正经历着一个深刻的转型。从传统课堂到线上教育,从固定课程到灵活学制,关于“学分”这一教育学核心的讨论已经摆在了最前沿。许多大学正在减少学分总数,它不只是一个数字的变化,而是教育理念的一次转型。颠覆基础教育阶段的“确定性”计划,转而拥抱大学阶段更多未知的无限可能。这是一种赋权,但更是一种对人类更高阶素质的要求——在自律中实现自由!每个人不再是课程表的“工具人”,而是大学生活的“主理人”;每项学习不再是“任务驱动”的模块,而是长期实用主义的“目标”。
今天,我想用五句话与大家分享,在这个学分减少的时代,大学应该扮演什么角色,在大学的这几年,又该找到怎样的方向。
第一句话我想分享的是:告别学习“流水线”,让大学变成你们的“试验场”。
减少学分并不是减少你们的学习机会,而“0注水”“高提纯”,让大学所学真正变为向未来喂料的“细糠”。当人工智能可以完成精密实验、可以操刀脑部手术、甚至可以提供情绪价值时,我们的专业是否还真的有底气说“面向未来”?
但不要盲目地“知识恐慌”,刨去“AI幻觉”始终需要权威矫正外,我们更应该思考如何利用空出的时间培育我们人类独有的专属技能树。学分“留白”,是对真正技能的“还绿”——不论你是主修工程学、理学,还是人文学科,每一个自由时段,都应该被用来培养超越工具时代的那些核心能力——包括批判性思维、创新能力,以及永久的好奇心。信息科大也将为你们的技能“还绿”开辟一片广袤的“试验田”——带着Python编码去阿里云创造自己的智能体;带着文化创新去我们的海外合作高校共同探讨人类命运共同体……上学期我们的“春假”一夜走红,今年夏季学期的辅修、微专业、暑期学校、暑研等为满足同学们更高质量、更加多样的教育需求提供了丰富多彩的课程和实践。
第二句话我想分享的是:大胆“学科混搭”,让“缝隙”迸发最顶流的“创意”。
从人工智能到低空经济,从纳米生物学到碳中和科学工程,无数时下大热的科学创新都始发于学科间的缝隙。就像我们赖以生存的自然界,它从不弥合裂缝,而是创造新的生机。
在信息科大亦然。强制性的学分少了,正好可以大胆尝试一下“学科混搭”,基于实际问题,项目式学习,以长期实用主义让学科真正为我所用,“混搭出新”。气候变化问题并不能仅仅依靠环境科学解决,需要经济学家、社会学家、数据分析师共同合作推进。“量子计算”的研究仅靠物理学家是不够的,数学家、化学家和工程师的协作同样不可或缺。甚至今天的电影制作,也频繁融合数字特效和AI生成技术。这就是为什么“碳中和”的攻坚需要多门学科背景的专家学者共同努力,这就是为什么放假前我们把学院的名称定义为“传播艺术与科学学院”。研究生院近期也将推出交叉学科培育计划。从这个角度看,减少学分为你们提供了跨学科探索的空间,因为你们的大学生涯将不再仅仅专注于一个学科,而是鼓励你通过多样化的路径去构建全新知识。
我鼓励你们试探两个或多个学科之间的“缝隙”,去质疑“为什么”?去问“怎么办”?因为这些缝隙往往就是创新发生的地方。世界已经告诉我们:交叉人才是未来的需求。既能洞悉社会又能操作技术,你们才能成为不可替代的人。或许在新学期,你们就能看到更多“多师同课”的现象,他们可能来自不同院系、不同专业,甚至不同职能部门和行业领域,学校将主动而为向“缝隙”靠近、向“缝隙”求变,也期待能为你们带来更多启发、激活更多灵感。我们的教师们、管理服务团队的员工们,也将会在方方面面给同学们提供这样的“缝隙”和“界面”。
第三句话我想分享的是:自带“思辨buff”,永远为靠近真理发问。
谈到社会的变化,就不得不提我们所处的一个重要时代——信息过载与技术过载的冲突时代。今天的新闻不再是静止的,而是快速流动的;我们的算法在推送信息,也在操控情绪。减少学分并不意味着减少知识的重要性,反而要求你们在多元信息里找到更深刻的洞察力和责任感。
今年,对于世界人民,特别是华夏儿女而言,都是意义非凡的一年。就在几天前,我们通过不同渠道共同见证了九三阅兵,中国人民以这种庄严、肃穆的方式“铭记历史、缅怀先烈”,也是以这种方式庆祝中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯战争胜利80周年,向世界传递“珍爱和平,开创未来”的理念与坚持。实证当前,但全球“历史虚无主义”仍有抬头之势,以个别国家为主导的世界话语体系与传播渠道仍旧被操控和垄断,我们耳听未必为实,所见也未必全然为真。这就要求我们不断拓展视野、打开思维,侧观世界、多元取证,用客观的视角去观察、用辩证的思维去思考,打好“地基”再“起高楼”。
于是,减少学分的大学并非减少价值,它是一个提示——你们应该把课堂之外的时间,用在思考如何成为技术、社会和人性之间的桥梁,如何用去伪存真的方式去更接近真相。这是你们今天能够做到的,也是未来必须承担的。具备适应变化的能力,也具备让社会变得更公正、更美好的使命。
第四句话我想分享的是:做高质量“时间管理大师”,“主线+支线”都要亮。
学分的减少,是学习主导权的移交,是时间管理权的归位。这种从“外置枷锁”,内化为“内驱动力”的高阶转化,是每一名大学生真正意义上的“成人礼”。
对于每一名新生而言,完成学业的精专、创新是为学的“主线任务”,但在以“过好自己的人生”为终极目标的沿途上,这却只能算得上是“支线任务”。因为为学是路径,立身是根本。大学就为每个人丰富人生厚度、拓展阅历维度提供了最佳的时期——大胆对话,去和不同背景、不同思维方式的同学坐下来交流;全心体验,走出校园,站在社区、社会甚至全球场景中,体会“赋予时间意义”;自我设计、日臻完善,最终取得阶段性成就。未来的世界,技能和知识虽然重要,但它更需要兼具智慧与温度的人。那些能够理解不同文化、包容多样性,并致力于创造美好生活的人,才能成为各行各业的领导者,才能成为主导自己人生的“神”。大学的几年——哪怕学分减少——都应该成为这种深度与厚度成长的黄金窗口。因为,当你们走出校园,这份深度与厚度将成为你们迎接挑战、创造未来最大的底气。
第五句话我想分享的是:学分精简不是“减法”,而是锻造“知识晶核”的“乘法”。
亲爱的同学们和老师们,学分的减少不是一个对教育的妥协,而是让教育更加精炼的尝试。它不是简单的“减法”,而是一次对于每个人精准施策、去粗取精的“晶核乘法”。课堂上,我们力争做到“门门金课”,摒弃无效“淘金”;知识传导和积累上,我们力争做到“高密度能量块”,一改“大水漫灌”,让“知识晶核”从“形核”到“长大”,都能锻造出更坚固、稳定的“人才晶核”!
在这样一个无可预测的世界里,每一种过时的思维模式都可能成为发展的阻碍,而教育的意义,就在于帮助你们学会以独立的视角和创新的思维去解决问题。或许学分的减少看似在缩小学习的“范围”,但它实际上在扩大学习的“深度”。这样的教育指引你们直面难题、突破自我,在奔向未来时,能够用专业和信念书写属于你们的答案。这样的转型,要求你们更加专注于从精炼的知识中汲取养分,修炼内心的定力与应对未知的能力。你们作为年轻一代,有义务以智慧与勇气,去面对那些挑战。同时,你们也有权利和力量去定义未来的样貌。如果说学分的减少标志着一种教育理念的转型,那么你们就是未来理念的践行者。
我希望同学们在这所大学里,不仅仅追逐高绩点,而是追逐更宏大的目标——去塑造你们的头脑、内心和人生态度。愿你们像科学家一样去质疑,像艺术家一样去创造,像哲学家一样去思辨,像社会活动家一样去关怀。这些目标,正是大学教育最本质的价值所在。愿你们以充满智慧、同理心和行动力的姿态,迎接每一分属于大学时光的挑战与机遇。在这新学期伊始之际,我也再次希望我们全体师生员工、全球信息科大人一道努力,为同学们搭建更多跨学科交流、文化碰撞以及实践活动的桥梁,让校园不只是一个学习的场所,更是一个滋养好奇心和成长的沃土。正是有了师生共同的努力,这所大学才能成为一个培养独立思想、创新精神和社会责任感的重要平台。

dedicated staff, respected parents, and honored guests:
Good morning!
Today, my message is addressed to the entire Beijing
Information Science and Technology University (BISTU)
community, especially the 5,900 new undergraduate and
graduate students who are beginning an exciting new
chapter in their lives. It is a pleasure to welcome you
all.
We are gathered here during one of Beijing’s most
beautiful seasons, a time of hope and harvest. To our
new students, let me extend my warmest congratulations!
You have successfully navigated the rigorous challenges
of college-entrance or graduate-entrance examinations.
Stepping onto this campus today is the first step into a
world of unlimited possibilities. This is where you’ll
uncover truths, sharpen your skills, and begin to shape
your future self.
And to our returning faculty, students, and staff, I
say, "Welcome back!" Thank you for contributing to and
furthering BISTU’s growth and vitality. After a long
summer semester and break lasting nearly three months,
we return to find our efforts bearing fruit. Our
collective achievements have elevated BISTU’s
standing—and once again the public has taken notice,
saying, “BISTU is truly soaring!” The university has
become more dynamic, diverse, and innovative, thanks to
all of you.
This summer, our institution played a leading role in
hosting the world’s first humanoid robotics “Olympics”
at Beijing’s iconic Ice Ribbon arena. Seven of our
schools showcased their strengths, from human-machine
collaborative soccer games to cyber dance sessions and
joint-precision manufacturing. BISTU lit up the
international stage, and once again, our students,
faculty, and staff felt a surge of pride in what we’ve
accomplished together.
Meanwhile, the university has achieved new milestones
in admissions. This year’s intake broke previous
records, with higher scores and rankings, earning the
media reaction: “BISTU is rising stronger than ever!”
These accomplishments reflect years of steady progress
in new engineering disciplines, collaborations with
industry, integration of science and education, and
innovative pedagogical models. Since its founding 88
years ago, BISTU has always aligned itself with the
priorities of our nation—moving from "industrial
salvation" to "national service through
industrialization" and now to "strengthening the nation
through information technology." Generation after
generation of BISTU scholars have dedicated themselves
to this mission while shaping the university into what
it is today: a distinguished leader in applied research,
information technologies, and high-level talent
development within critical industries.
With the Astra Residential College and the Illinois
Tech College of Engineering joining the University this
year, our academic structure has reached new heights.
For you, the Class of 2025, your arrival is perfectly
timed. This is not just the beginning of your university
journey but also the unfolding story of BISTU’s progress
toward becoming a world-class institution. Together, we
will make history as BISTU continues its rise.
What Does It Mean When Credits Are Reduced?
Each year, opening convocation fills me with hope and
a sense of boundless possibility. This year, however,
feels especially momentous. We are living in a time of
great transformation—rapid technological advancements,
societal complexities, and a redefinition of what
learning and education truly mean. In this context,
BISTU remains committed to excellence by embracing
change and leading boldly.
Beginning with the Class of 2025, we have reformed our
academic curriculum, with some undergraduate programs
reducing credit requirements by as much as 30. This
prompts a question: when the number of credits
decreases, what should we focus on learning during
university?
Around the world, higher education is undergoing a
profound shift. From traditional lecture halls to online
platforms, rigid curricula to flexible pathways, the
very meaning of “credits” is being reexamined. Reducing
credit hours is not merely a technical adjustment—it
represents a philosophical transformation. It sheds the
rigidity of predictable learning plans, commonly seen in
earlier stages of education, in favor of embracing the
endless possibilities of university life.
This shift is an invitation. It empowers students and
calls for a higher level of engagement—a transition from
being passive participants in a curriculum to active
architects of a personal and academic future. Decreased
credit requirements are not about doing less; they are
about doing more of what matters.
Today, I want to share “five key insights” about what
we should learn in this new era of reduced credits and
what kind of university experience we should aim to
create.
Insight 1: Transform the University into Your
"Experimentation Lab"
Less is more. Reduced credits are not about giving you
less education but removing unnecessary “filler” so that
what you learn truly becomes "high precision"
preparation for the future. At a time when artificial
intelligence can conduct experiments, perform surgeries,
and even provide emotional support, we must ask
ourselves whether the skillsets taught by our programs
are genuinely preparing students for such a future.
But let us not fall into the trap of fearing progress.
Instead, think critically and intentionally about the
newfound time opened up by this academic reform. Use it
to cultivate uniquely human abilities—the skills that
cannot be replaced. Critical thinking, innovative
creativity, and an insatiable curiosity should guide
your learning.
At BISTU, we’re committed to providing a fertile “test
field” for your growth. Want to program your own AI on
Alibaba Cloud? Do it. Want to explore cultural
innovation alongside global peers? We’ll support you.
Already, initiatives like our spring break projects,
summer terms, micro-credentials, and auxiliary minors
have brought customized, high-quality learning
opportunities to our students.
Insight 2: Embrace the “Intersections”—Where True
Innovation Happens
From AI and carbon neutrality to nanobiotechnology and
quantum computing, today’s greatest breakthroughs are
born at the boundaries between disciplines. Nature
itself thrives on gaps, evolving new opportunities in
every crevice.
At BISTU, reduced credit requirements mean you can now
engage in more cross-disciplinary exploration. Tackle
pressing global challenges like climate change or
renewable energy by approaching them from multi-angle
perspectives: as collaborations between economists,
sociologists, data scientists, and engineers. Starting
this semester, you’ll see more "co-teaching" across
departments and increased focus on problem-based
innovation. Our Graduate School is soon going to open up
several interdisciplinary program initiatives for you to
participate.
We encourage you to "mix and match" subjects,
experiment with project-based learning, and build
connections between seemingly unrelated areas. For
instance, you might find your passion for "quantum
computing" at the intersection of physics, mathematics,
or even chemistry. Multi-disciplinary talent isn’t just
desirable for the future workforce—it’s essential.
Insight 3: Always Ask "Why"—And Pursue Truth
Relentlessly
Society today faces enormous information overload.
Algorithms feed us content, skewing perspectives and
manipulating emotions. But understanding the world
requires depth and discernment. Reducing credits does
not mean reducing the importance of knowledge, but
rather requires you to find deeper insights and a sense
of responsibility in diverse information.
This year, particularly for Chinese society, holds
profound meaning as we commemorate the 80th anniversary
of global victory over Japanese aggression and fascism.
While historical evidence remains clear, the global
trend of "historical nihilism" continues to rise. The
narrative frameworks and communication channels
predominantly controlled by certain nations perpetuate a
distorted and monopolized worldview. What we hear may
not necessarily be true, and what we see may not fully
reflect reality. This calls on us to expand our
horizons, open our minds, and develop a multidimensional
approach to understanding the world—observing
objectively and thinking critically with a dialectical
mindset. Only by laying a strong foundation can we reach
new heights.
Thus, reducing credit hours at universities is not a
reduction in value; it is a reminder—a call to action.
The time freed from traditional curricula should be used
to reflect on how you can become a bridge between
technology, society, and humanity, and how you can use
methods of discernment to get closer to the truth. This
is something you can begin to do now, but it is also a
responsibility you will bear in the future. It is about
cultivating the ability to adapt to change while
bringing about a more just and better society.
Insight 4: Master the Art of Time—Balance “Main
Quests” and “Side Quests”
Reduced credits place the management of your education
back in your hands over your time management. This
shift—marking the transition from external pressure to
internal drive—is the true “coming of age” moment for
every student.
For every incoming freshman, academic mastery and
innovation constitute the "main quest" of your
university journey, but when viewed in the broader
context of the ultimate goal—living a fulfilling
life—this academic pursuit is merely a "side quest."
Education is the path, but personal growth is the
foundation. College is the prime season for each of you
to enrich the depth of your life and expand the
dimensions of your experience. It is a time to engage in
meaningful conversations—sit down with classmates from
different backgrounds and learn from varying
perspectives. Fully immerse yourself in new
experiences—step beyond the campus, participate in
community, societal, or even global affairs, and
understand what it means to give your time purpose.
Through self-reflection and continuous improvement, you
can ultimately achieve milestones of personal progress.
In the world ahead, skills and knowledge will
undoubtedly be important, but the future demands
individuals who combine intellect with empathy. Leaders
in every field will be those who can understand
different cultures, embrace diversity, and strive to
create a better life for others. Those who possess the
wisdom and warmth to do so will not only lead others but
will also be the true architects of their own lives.
The college years—credit reductions
notwithstanding—should remain a golden window for
developing such depth and breadth of your character.
Because when you leave this campus, it is that very
depth and breadth that will serve as your greatest
foundation for tackling challenges and shaping the
future.
Insight 5: Reduction Is About Refinement—Achieving
Greater Depth
The reduction in credits is not a compromise on
education; it is a deliberate attempt to make education
more refined. It is not simply a matter of
"subtraction," but rather a calculated "core
multiplication" process—one that tailors education to
each individual by streamlining and honing its focus. In
the classroom, we strive for every course to be a
"golden class," eliminating ineffective "prospecting."
In terms of knowledge transmission and accumulation, we
aim to create "high-density energy blocks," replacing
the outdated "flood irrigation" approach with a process
where the "knowledge nucleus," from its initial
"crystallization" to its eventual "growth," is
meticulously forged into a strong and stable "talent
grain."
In an unpredictable world, any outdated mode of
thinking can become an obstacle to progress. The true
purpose of education is to help you learn how to tackle
problems with an independent perspective and innovative
mindset. While the reduction in credits may seem to
"narrow" the scope of your learning, it is, in reality,
designed to "deepen" the impact of your education. This
kind of education enables you to confront challenges
head-on, push your own boundaries, and move toward the
future—armed with both expertise and conviction to write
your unique answers.
This transformation, however, asks more of you. It
requires you to focus on extracting nourishment from
distilled knowledge and to build inner resilience and
the ability to navigate the unknown. As the next
generation, you have the responsibility to face
challenges with wisdom and courage. At the same time,
you have both the right and the power to define the
shape of the future. If the reduction in credits
symbolizes a shift in educational philosophy, then you
are the pioneers entrusted to bring this philosophy to
life.
I hope that during your time at BISTU, you won’t
simply chase after a high GPA, but instead, pursue more
ambitious goals—to shape your mind, your heart, and your
approach to life. May you learn to question like a
scientist, create like an artist, think critically like
a philosopher, and care deeply like a social activist.
These objectives represent the fundamental essence of
what a university education is truly about. May you
embrace each challenge and opportunity of your college
years with wisdom, empathy, and a spirit of action.
As we begin this new semester, I also reaffirm my hope
that all of us—students, faculty, staff, and everyone in
the global community of BISTU—will work together to
create more opportunities for interdisciplinary
dialogue, cultural exchange, and hands-on experiences.
Let’s make this campus not just a place for learning,
but also a fertile ground for curiosity and growth. It
is through the joint efforts of faculty and students
that this university can stand as a vital platform for
cultivating independent thinking, innovative spirit, and
a strong sense of social responsibility.
